1. Overview
Bamzal Ltd. ("Bamzal," "we," "us," or "our") gives you several ways to delete the data we hold. This page covers (a) deletion of your store data when you uninstall the Shopify app, and (b) deletion of Meta-derived data for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp users. For the full picture of what we collect and why, see our Privacy Policy.
2. Deleting your Shopify store data
- Uninstall: when you uninstall Bamzal from your Shopify admin, your sessions and kill-switch state are removed and connected-platform tokens are revoked and deleted.
- Shop deletion: on Shopify's shop/redact request (about 48 hours after uninstall), we delete your shop's data across our systems.
- Customer deletion / access: on Shopify's customers/redact request we delete the identified customer's records, and on customers/data_request we compile the data we hold about that customer so you can fulfill the request.
- Limited records may be retained where required for legal, security, audit, or fraud-prevention purposes, and aggregated/de-identified data may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy.
3. What data we store about Meta users
When a merchant connects a Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp account, we store the following derived data, encrypted at rest:
- The Meta user ID of the merchant who granted the OAuth permission
- An encrypted long-lived access token (and page-scoped tokens when applicable)
- The IDs of the connected Facebook Page, Instagram Business Account, Meta Ad Account, Meta Business, Pixel, and WhatsApp Business Account
- Operational metadata: timestamps of OAuth events, audit logs of mutations performed on the merchant's behalf, and rate-limit/kill-switch counters
Through Meta Login we do not store the content of private messages, the email addresses of end-customers who message the merchant's Page, or personal information about people who follow / comment on the merchant's accounts. (Where you separately enable features that process public social or competitor data, that processing is described in our Privacy Policy.)
4. Request deletion of Meta data — Option A (in-app, fastest)
- Open Bamzal inside your Shopify admin.
- Go to Settings → Integrations.
- On the Facebook / Instagram / WhatsApp card, click Disconnect & delete my Meta data.
- The app immediately revokes the access token at Meta, deletes the encrypted token, and erases the associated Meta identifiers (page, IG account, business, pixel, WhatsApp account, and ad account IDs) from our database.
- You will land on a confirmation page with a deletion confirmation code.
5. Request deletion of Meta data — Option B (via Facebook)
- Open Facebook → Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites.
- Find Bamzal and click Remove.
- Facebook sends a data-deletion request to our server. We delete all data associated with your Meta user ID and respond with a confirmation URL and a unique deletion code.
6. Request deletion — Option C (by email)
If neither option works, email legal@bamzal.com from the email address associated with your Meta account, include your Facebook user ID (or Page name and URL) and a short statement that you want your Meta-derived data deleted from Bamzal. We will complete the deletion within 30 days and reply with a deletion confirmation code.
7. After deletion
- The encrypted access token is removed and Bamzal can no longer call any Meta API on your behalf.
- All associated Meta identifiers are erased.
- Operational audit log entries are retained for up to 90 days for security and abuse-prevention, then purged automatically.
- Aggregated, non-identifying metrics may be retained.
